Epic Variations was made in collaboration between the graduating class of the BA in contemporary dance program at LMTA and a choreographer Liza Baliasnaja. Performers share a unique physical language developed in the process a collective movement research based on the study of paintings from 16th and 17th century European art scene. With this vocabulary, we created a bastard version of early court dances, special in their limited movement choices and collective mode of execution.
